Today is about getting to Stillwater, Minnesota to pick up some pants since the store is closed tomorrow. I am getting a pair of Arborwear Original Tree Climbers' Pants. I was hoping to get a 36” length to compensate for the creeping up in a sitting position but given the timeline and my reluctance to pay for the $20 for overnight shipping I have to get what they got. I was originally going to get Carhartt pants because of their double cloth thickness at the knees but the Arborwear pants have a gusseted crotch and a softer fabric which both obviously will add to increased comfort for long hours in the saddle. Also on the docket is figuring out how to wire up a higher amp relay with a switch so I can run my power converter off my battery while I'm riding and not pulling off the amps when I don't have them to spare. I know just enough electronics to make me dangerous but I really plan on keeping this web diary of my trip so that if you are interested in following my whereabouts you can and it will also let people know I’m still alive and therefore I won’t have to call every night and cramp my style.

Then it’s placing an order to Aerostich RiderWearHouse for some last minute trinkets so that they will arrive sometime on Tuesday before heading off for the real deal of a trip. The Aerostitch catalog is pretty much a bible of everything you need to embark on an adventure such as this.
And of course I still have to test my camp stove, practice setting up the tent and a few other things I put off 'til the last minute. I also want to repack some of my stuff and see what I can jettison. Though it rode very well even in yesterday’s crosswind I want to run lean and mean.

Route: Highway 12 to Interstate 94, to Minnesota Highway 95, into Stillwater. Return on 95 to I-94, west to I-494, to South St. Paul.
